The Mayflower Project
What Is It?
The John Molson International Committee has planned an exciting twenty-day bilateral cultural exchange project involving students at JMSB and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. This initiative is an opportunity for Canadian and Swiss students to explore each other’s cultures and to further learn about one another’s academic institutions and notable economic industries. A group of 40 dedicated and enthusiastic students from JMSB and St. Gallen will have the privilege to take part in this highly anticipated event. Canadian and Swiss participants will live together during each other’s respective visits and will participate in the itineraries planned by the host institution.
When Is It?
JMSB students visit St. Gallen, Switzerland: February 15th to February 25th, 2018. Visits in Switzerland include St. Gallen, Zurich, Bern, Geneva, and Luzern. Tours of Swiss Business entities, experiencing Swiss dining and culture, and further learning about the University of St. Gallen as a renowned academic institution.
Swiss students from St. Gallen visit Montreal, Canada: March 30th to April 8th, 2018. Visits in Montreal include academic activites, such as a case competition simulation, a tour of JMSB and more. There will also be cultural aspect with tours of Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City. In addition, on the trade and commerce side, activities will be present such as a visit of major Canadian companies as well as a visit of the Canadian Swiss Chamber of Commerces.

What Is The Recruitment Process?
The Mayflower recruitment process is based on interviews, a letter of intent and letters of recommendation. Applicants need to submit at least 2 letters of recommendation, which can be from any professor, employer or coach.
Applications will open on November 1st and close on November 27th.
More information will be given during the November Information Sessions.
How Much Does It Cost?
The total cost per student is estimated to be between $1500 and $2000, which includes ALL trips expenses – airfare to Switzerland and the costs of the entire two trips (Montreal and Switzerland), including food, accommodation, group activities and visits to other cities. Personal expenses are not included.
